In addition to the wave ball, some accessories will increase the realism of the rescue training scene. Those elements will play with the 5 senses to copy the climate, inside of the helicopter and the interaction of the helicopter with the scene.

Wind and rain are nearly always combined together. Wind is generated by big fans that can be oriented and rain by a water outlet that will spread water just in front of the wind turbine (pics 1 & 2). By varying the water flow and the wind force you will be able to produce small tiny rain or heavy tropical rains.

Automated shutters will allow a quick passage from day to night in rescue pool with large windows where otherwise it would be impossible to have a dark night.

In order to make the trainees feel like if they where inside a real helicopter that will ditch; a “false helicopter” or “HUET” will be used (pics 3 & 4). The Huet will be able to “take off” from the border of the pool to the water tanks to a bridge crane. Several operating speeds will be available. Once in the water, it will also be able to turn upside down.

All the HUETs are lifted by a dedicated crane ( pics 5 & 6). With capacities going from 6 to 12 tons, those cranes will be fully controllable in order to give the HUET a ditching as close as possible to the reality. Some can be programmable in order to give a repeatable exercise.

L'unité de sauvetage est un "faux" hélicoptère qui est fixé au-dessus de la surface de l'eau (photos 7 & 8). Cette structure sera utilisée durant les exercices d’hélicoptère. L'intérieur de la structure peut être réalisé afin d’être aussi proche que possible d'un vrai hélicoptère.

This fan, oriented vertically from the ceiling to the surface of the water will make like if the rescue helicopter was above the pool (pics 7 & 8). People in the water will feel the heavy wind coming from the helicopter rotor.

Sound of the helicopter, thunder or other can improve the realism of the scene. The sound will make that people will not be able to communicate with voice and increase the stress level.

Light effects like: search light, stroboscopic flash… will increase the realism of the night training (pics 9 & 10).

Smoke machine will produce heavy smoke that will reinforce the loneliness of the trainee (pic 11).

Underwater bubble machine jets create water current, enhancing the realism of replicating an open sea environment for delivering realistic safety training exercises.

In some parts of the pool, waves can be higher because of some wave combinations. This mostly happens in corners.

Because of this “corner effect” the waves height in the pool have to be lowered in order to avoid overflowing.  Quarter of spheres can be added in the corners in order to locally make curved higher freeboard that will make the water passing over the freeboard back to the pool.
